Do what you want.
Why do people always use it as an excuse?
People say ‘Do what you want’, as they steal for kicks.
They say ‘Do what you want’, as they steal millions from hedge funds.
Again and again and a thousand more times it is an excuse to get material gain by hurting others. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally.
But it’s a lie.
No one was born wanting millions of dollars. No one consistantly steals for fun. Not on their own.
You are born, then life is inflicted on you. You have years of absorbing what you should want. Years of seeing, all day, for endless days, what the nebulous beast of society does when it does not preach. You experience life, and learn from what people do much more than what people say. And people do what they think they can get away with.
But still it’s a lie.
Do not do what you think you want, because you want it because you are not thinking. Try and think, to yourself and for yourself. Not what you think you want, because you are afraid. Not what you think you want, because your mother tells you. Strip out the things you think you should want, the things you think you should chase, the desires you think you should or shouldn’t have and really, actually think.
When I say “do what you want,”
“Do what YOU want.”
“Do what you WANT.”
“Do what you truly, in the silent secret space of your own blessed brain, in the dark heart of your precious humanity, want.”
